The football club is part of Christ The King parish community, and was formed in July 1993 with eight boys of mixed ages under the name of Christ The King Football Club; founded by Jim Williams and Danny Apap. A year later the club was affiliated to the Berks & Bucks Football Association. Since that time, the club has grown in structure and success and this is mainly dew to the hard work put in by Jim Williams ( Club Secretary ) over the years, and the work and time given by all the managers and helpers. To-day the club have ten teams ranging from under 6'st through to under 14's; one of these teams is made up with all girls, and now the club has become one of the biggest clubs in the south of Reading area. The club welcome all boys and girls of all domain and religion, on the 1st June 2001 the club changed the name to South Reading F. C.. The club have its own web site..
