The football club is part of Christ The King parish community, and
was formed in July 1993 with eight boys of mixed ages under the
name of Christ The King Football Club; founded by Jim Williams
and Danny Apap.  A year later the club was affiliated to the Berks
& Bucks Football Association. Since that time, the club has grown
in structure and success and this is mainly dew to the hard work
put in by Jim Williams ( Club Secretary ) over the years, and the
work and time given by all the managers and helpers.
To-day the club have ten teams ranging from under 6'st through to
under 14's; one of these teams is made up with all girls, and now
the club has become one of the biggest clubs in the south of
Reading area. The club welcome all boys and girls of all domain
and religion, on the 1st June 2001 the club changed the name to
South Reading F. C..
